Since its inception, World Health Day themes have successfully raised awareness about specific issues and educated the public about how to prevent and/or treat those issues. Its goal is to encourage individuals, no matter their age, to improve their health. Every year a different health issue is highlighted. In 2021, the theme is “Building a fairer, healthier world”. Realizing that many people around the world find it difficult to be treated for their health issues and that basic healthcare varies from country to country. To celebrate, the WHO organizes international activities and events to help educate the public about health issues and crises happening around the world.World Health Day themes have successfully raised awareness about specific issues and educated the public about how to prevent and/or treat those issues.

National Walking Day

National Walking Day is celebrated annually on the first Wednesday in April. The goal is to encourage everyone to improve their health by walking. Walking just 30 minutes a day can greatly boost your mood and overall mental, emotional, and physical health. Developed in 2007 by the American Heart Association (AHA), the mission of National Walking Day is to promote a healthy lifestyle by reminding everyone the importance of staying active. Walking is known to improve circulation, increase bone strength, reduce stress, and help with weight loss by burning calories.
