COVID-19

***We are pleased to report that there are currently no Coronavirus cases at any Avanti community***

As this global pandemic continues to affect businesses, individuals, and loved ones, Avanti along with our National Medical Director, expert health care professionals, regulatory agencies are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our residents and team members. We are taking a proactive, timely and innovative approach to the COVID-19 challenge.

Our #1 priority is to maintain the safety and well-being of everyone within our communities. With the rise of individuals globally affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Avanti Senior Living is taking effective preventative measures to ensure the safety of our residents, team members, and any medical personnel essential to the well-being of our residents.

In order to ensure everyone’s safety, Avanti is following the appropriate steps to follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC as well as the local, state, and federal governments.

Here are the necessary precautions we currently have in place:

  • Utilizing our Avanti Health/Telehealth system
  • Extensive handwashing for residents and team members
  • Social distancing throughout the day
  • Deterring handshakes and hugs
  • Using technology to connect residents with their loved ones
  • Using protective and infection control measures when helping residents
  • Following CDC protocol for cleaning and disinfecting our communities
  • Tracking and monitoring for symptoms of all team members and residents
  • Modified Taste protocols to adhere to a non-restaurant setting
  • Using our TouchTown system for virtual engagement and distance learning

Additionally, according to the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/aging/covid19-guidance.html) and in accordance with local & state “Stay at Home” initiatives, older adults should stay home as much as possible unless absolutely necessary. In accordance with the CDC guidelines, we have canceled all events that would expose our residents to unnecessary gatherings or large crowds that would place them at extreme risks.

How We Keep Our Residents Engaged, Fit and Well

We at Avanti Senior Living strive to keep our residents engaged while maintaining a feeling of independence. As we age, it’s extremely important to maintain an active lifestyle.  Why? Because it is good for the mind, the body, and strength. Regular exercise has many physical health and mental health benefits.  There are many ways for people to increase their longevity, and ultimately boost their happiness. Avanti Senior Living provides a multitude of activities focused on a holistic approach to overall health and well-being:

TELEHEALTH

Avanti Senior Living has initiated the use of Telehealth to reduce the risk of exposure to our residents and team members. Telehealth offers virtual assessments of a majority of ailments and illnesses without leaving the comfort of our community. Residents, one of the most susceptible groups of contracting COVID-19, can speak to a board-certified doctor in real-time without risk of traveling to a doctor’s office.

Mind • Body • Strength

Avanti’s innovative wellness program is specially designed to keep your mind sharper and your body stronger and healthier. This results in residents feeling stronger and happier following active participation in the program. Residents can engage in daily fitness classes, relax at the Avanti Health Spa, or get professional nail or hair services at the Avanti Salon.

TouchTown

Avanti Senior Living has integrated Touchtown technology as an effective communication system for residents, team members, and visitors. Touchtown helps to empower residents by improving their independence, quality of life, and overall well-being while making it easier for them to actively and virtually engage with family and friends.

Brain Games

Research shows that you can reduce or even help prevent cognitive decline by engaging in activities that challenge your brain. One way to keep your brain active and your mind sharp is to learn something new, like a different language, or even play video games. Video games can actually help improve mood, memory, and overall longevity. Residents use their Avanti tablets to read the news, play brain games or check the Avanti events calendar.

Future Residents

We understand that there are emergency situations for many families that have been impacted by the Coronavirus. We are conducting virtual tours and assessment. We have also implemented comprehensive protocols and procedures to assure we are not impacting the health and safety of current residents and staff during the move-in process. Please contact one of our six communities so we may assist you or your loved one.
